Mindfulness Meditation

with Andre Talbot – Thursdays at 7:30-8:45 pm

Join us weekly for highly accessible mindfulness meditation instruction and group practice followed by a short talk and opportunities for shared inquiry and discussion. No meditation experience is necessary.
We explore the teachings and practices of mindfulness and the buddha-dharma (teachings for awakening) as a sort of technology to cultivate greater clarity, awareness, intimacy and compassion within our modern urban lives. We take an approach to the study of mindfulness and the zen tradition that is firmly rooted in a naturalistic, scientific, rational and experiential understanding.

Our meditation group is led by Andre Talbot, studio co-director, mindfulness facilitator and dharma chingu (friend of the dharma). Andre is inspired by and continues to study with his primary teacher and mentor Poep Sa (dharma teacher) Frank Jude Boccio (mindfulnessyoga.net).

*Proceeds of this class are donated to the New Leaf Yoga Foundation which provides yoga and mindfulness-based programming to youth in custody facilities, community centres, and schools in under-serviced neighbourhoods across Southern Ontario.
