What is Psychotherapy?
At its core, psychotherapy offers a refuge for exploration, reflection and positive action. A compassionate space to express and explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. It is a journey of self-discovery and transformation. It is a creative and collaborative process.
The therapeutic process can help you unravel the complexities of your mind-heart and relationships, foster understanding and approach your pains and struggles with care. Along with offering support in problem-solving, it is also about learning to embrace the uncertainty of human experience. Therapeutic care can help you to make meaning of your struggles, re-discover your strengths, and cultivate an intentional path forward.
About Me
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the CRPO (College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario) dedicated to helping people navigate life’s challenges while re-discovering their potential to experience wellbeing, meaning and wonder.
My professional career began in sport and high-performance, including a decade as a professional football player in the Canadian Football League—the highs and lows of competitive sports instilled in me a deep understanding of resilience. Personal reinvention and growth have been integral to a fulfilling life post-competition including working in athlete care spaces developing programming for amateur and professional athletes and sports institutions.
As the co-founder and director of Spirit Loft Movement Centre (est. 2011), I have been dedicated to the embodied arts as a movement educator, personal trainer, and mindfulness facilitator. My work in this field involves guiding individuals and groups toward embodied awareness, mental-emotional resilience and physical empowerment. This experience has provided me with a strong understanding of the causal relationship between physiology and inner equilibrium.
During my psychotherapy internship at The Centre for Sight Enhancement at the University of Waterloo, I supported clients experiencing visual impairment, vision loss, and traumatic brain injury (TBI). This role provided me the great privilege of accompanying and supporting people adapting to change, coping with loss, and managing disability, amidst the full complexity of their lives.
I recently completed a Master’s in Theology with a focus on Spiritual Care & Psychotherapy at Wilfrid Laurier University. The balance of interfaith dialogue with psychotherapeutic methodology and personal reflection has enriched and deepened my approach to caregiving.
These diverse experiences and academic training, equip me to offer compassionate support as you navigate life challenges and uncover your potential for fulfilment and ease.

Frequently Asked Questions
What will the initial session be like?
In the initial session, we’ll focus on getting to know you better and explore what you’d like to address during our time together. Also, it’s perfectly okay if you’re unsure about what you want to explore at this stage.
What can I expect from therapy sessions?
Building a therapeutic connection is fundamental for developing a supportive and trusting relationship. Establishing rapport with each other allows us to approach your challenges with creativity and collaboration.
Sessions often start with a review of our previous meeting and any reflections you might have about it. The focus then shifts to what’s most important to you in the present moment.
What happens between therapy sessions?
Therapy facilitates an awareness of your inner and outer resources along with a fresh perspective of your self in the world. You will engage with these new understandings and insights outside of therapy and much of the change process occurs between therapy sessions.
How much does therapy cost? Is it covered by insurance?
Individual Session (Online or In-Person) 60 min – $170
Psychotherapy services are often covered by your insurance and/or health benefits package. However, we recommend that you reach out to your benefits provider to ask whether Registered Psychotherapist services are covered. Clients are responsible for submitting their own claims.
